Movie: Picnic at Hanging Rock

Drama, Mystery | Peter Weir | Australia | IMDB

During a rural summer picnic, a few students and a teacher from an Australian girls’ school vanish without a trace. Their absence frustrates and haunts the people left behind.

I say wonderfully shoot film with a mysterious sceneries and a fitting soundtrack. I shall not attempt to interpret the film, nor to resolve the mysterious disappearance of young ladies. I think if you decide to watch it, the good thing to do is to submerge yourself into the enigmatic story and see where it brings you. Though, there’s a lot of symbolism, and would you want to study the film in a deeper manner, that’s certainly possible. Would you decide to do so, I’d imagine novel of the same title by Joan Lindsay, on which the film is based, would be a recommended read.
